INTERVIEW: Kylie Jenner hospitalized with serious illness

Kylie Jenner has been hospitalized with a serious illness a source close to Jenner told E! News. Kylie had been admitted to the hospital on Thursday, April 15th in critical condition. A few hours after arriving, Kylie was placed on a ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit as her condition worsened. A COVID-19 test taken had come back negative. On Saturday, April 17th, Kylie Jenner woke up from the sedatives though still on the ventilator. She also snapped a cute picture of herself on the ventilator that she shared. Despite not being able to talk, Kylie Jenner did do a Snapchat interview with E! News' Lilliana Vazquez describing what happened, which is transcribed below.

Lilliana Vazquez: Hello Kylie! How are you doing?

Kylie Jenner: I'm doing as best as I can. That breathing tube is causing some discomfort. How about you?

Lilliana Vazquez: That's too bad! I'm doing good! Thanks for asking! So, what exactly happened that sent you to the hospital?

Kylie Jenner: Well, starting Wednesday night, I started not to feel great. I felt feverish and tired so I popped some Ibuprofen and shoved off to bed early. I also had to call my ex-fiancé Travis Scott to watch Stormy. The next morning rolls around and I am just feeling awful. As the day progresses, my ability to breathe started to become affected so called in Travis who had stayed the night and he took me to the hospital.

While there, the doctors put me on an oxygen mask set to deliver the highest amount of oxygen it could give. They also ran numerous tests on me including a chest x-ray and a COVID test. The COVID test had thankfully come back negative but it still did not answer what my condition was. A chest x-ray showed that my lungs was filled with fluids. They then diagnosed me with severe Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, so off to the Intensive Care Unit I went.

Lilliana Vazquez: Oh wow, that is scary! What happened from when you were put into the intensive care unit to this interview?

Kylie Jenner: Well, I had only been in there for a couple hours when I started gasping for air. Lots of doctors and nurses came rushing in and determined I should be intubated. One of the doctors who had Travis Scott's phone number as he had stepped out to watch Stormy called him and told him that they would be intubating me. Scott rushed back to the hospital with Stormy so they could see me before I was put to sleep and intubated.

While they are on their way, the doctors and nurses are telling me what they are going to be doing. Of course I started to become scared and anxious, but the doctors and nurses had reassured me that everything was going to be alright. Travis and Stormy then arrived. Because of the state I was in, I could barely mutter anything to Travis and Stormy. I did however, hold Stormy for a few seconds, during which she tried to take off my oxygen mask as she was enthralled by it.

I remember trying to mutter "I love you" to her, but not able to get the words out. Finally, Travis took her from me and then that's all I remember up until I woke up earlier today.

Lilliana Vazquez: Oh wow! Do you know if Travis and Stormy visited while you were unconscious?

Kylie Jenner: I do not. Actually, a text from Travis just came in saying he and Stormy are coming up to see me.

Lilliana Vazquez: That's good. How does it feel not being able to speak due to the breathing tube in your throat?

Kylie Jenner: Honestly, it has not really bothered me much. I have Snapchat, Instagram, and the like to talk to people. On the other hand, the breathing tube is causing some discomfort in my throat, but what are you going to do about that right?

Lilliana Vazquez: That's good. Yeah, I suppose there is not much you can do about that at this point. I have one more question and then we will wrap this up. When do you expect to be released from the hospital?

Kylie Jenner: Honestly, I have no idea. I guess I will get released when I am feeling better. I just want to get this stupid breathing tube out of my throat and return home to my daughter Stormy.

Lilliana Vazquez: Ah, ok. Yeah, I bet. Well, that about does it for this interview. Thanks for taking the time to do this Kylie and I hope you get better quickly.

Kylie Jenner: Oh, no problem! I hope so too!
