DC’s chief creative officer Geoff Johns and Warner Bros. executive Vice President Walter Hamada were appointed to co-run the DC Films division and oversee creative decisions, production and story-arcs in order to create a cohesive overarching plot within the films.
They have released an official statement saying “DCEU has had a good run with its own ups and downs. We feel it was too late for us to join the comics to movie verse game. We are thankful to all the fans who were with us till the end. This maybe the end of our era. But who’s to say this isn’t the beginning of a new one?”
While the DCEU may not have had the same level of success as it’s other competitors (namely the MCU), it sure did come out with some great movies of its own.
And as Warner bros has hinted in its statement, we might get to see a refresh (hopefully the last one) that’ll make the DCEU catch up to MCU or grow into something better. Until then, fingers crossed.
